Hey, everyone, thanks for checking out bonus episode of the new Marketing Show getting us on Instagram, TV and YouTube. Today, I want to talk a little bit more about search engine optimization SEO, as it relates to content and WordPress. So I’ve been working with a lot of clients and where their SEO took a hit when the algorithm changed. And just because algorithms change, it doesn’t mean that you need to change everything that you do. It doesn’t mean that you need to reevaluate everything.
What it really means is, you just kind of keep doing what works or what’s tried and true. You know, when it comes to content, producing good high quality content that relates to the topics that you’re trying to rank for, is the key. Also, when we say high quality content, I mean, I’d love to see 300 words.
I love to see images in there with alt tags, I love to see that when you go ahead and you optimize your your post that you know what keywords are optimizing it for, especially when you’re using the system such as like WordPress, SEO by Yoast. Or any of the other systems, you go ahead and make sure that the title tags are set with your keyword in there.
And then some kind of separated, we use the pipe, and then maybe the name of your business or your location, other things that you’re trying to rank for. So if you’re trying to rank, let’s say, for real estate, and you’re trying to rank for a property, make sure that the title tags are going to say the name of the property, real estate for sale and maybe the brand name, but that’s sort of a strategy.
And if you do that consistently over and over and over the search engines will take notice of it.
You know, we also love leveraging YouTube as and their search engine for to benefit and to bring traffic back to the website. So if you have videos, or if you have maybe some audio that you can convert into a video file and post, you know, that’s another great way to enhance your SEO, SEO, when it comes to content is a long game.
You can’t look at the results and look at the differences and measure it day to day. We try to go increments of 14 days, 30 days and then historical over time. So be patient. Keep doing what you’re doing. And remember, algorithms are always going to change but if you do, what works and what the search engines like you’re going to be fine.
