A brand launch can be a daunting task. One false move and you potentially can take more than two steps backward. Tying up loose ends, dialing in the details and making sure your digital marketing and social media are on point are just a couple of things to complete.
Trinity Web Media is no stranger to launching new brands. We love helping people realize their dreams and bring them to life. Over the course of many successful launches of brands, we developed a checklist we work through. Today, we want to share our social media brand launch checklist.
Brand Launch Social Media Checklist
We know you are overwhelmed, so we are going to keep this as simple as possible.
Secure the brand’s name: 100% make sure you own your brand’s name across the board on all social media platforms. This is important for even the platforms that are of marginal interest. You never know with the change of times when you may want to use the other platforms. Do your self a favor and get them all when you can. (Tip: Try to get the exact brand name or extend the name with an underscore _.)
Get in the game with a strategy: Plan to succeed or succeed to fail. Being all in on launching a brand means doing all the leg work and creating a cohesive social media strategy.
Know your ideal audience and client: As our friend, Susan Baier of Audience Audit told us on The New Marketing Show Episode #7, create ideal personas without demographics. If you know your audience based on their behavior and buyer patterns vs. the raw demos, you are able to speak to more people.
Identify gaps in competitor’s social media’s presence: By being aware of what your competition is up to can see where they are lacking. I know that not everyone begins with a strategy, so if you completed step two you are ahead already. Fill a void in the market, be helpful and solve problems.
Engage with influencers and fans: The more you engage with key people in your industry, clients or influencers, the stronger a following you will start to develop. Rome was not built in a day, so don’t expect growth to be overnight. Slow, steady and authentic is the name of the game.
Post often and post well: Never post for the sake of posting, post when you can make an impact. The post should always tie to a strategic goal and something that helps your business community. Quality over quantity and helpful over selling is how we work.
Share your news: No one will know anything about your new brand if you do not tell them. It’s ok to share good company news without boasting. It’s ok to toot your own horn without bragging. Use social media for your brand launch as its main mouthpiece.
This is how Trinity Web Media handles all brand launches when it comes to social media. Do not underestimate how much time and how much work this is. It is a lot. Armed with the right information, or the right professional team following these guidelines will help ensure a successful social launch.
