When is the Best Time to Pivot?

April 25, 2019 by Greg Taylor

When is the Best Time to Pivot?

Whether it’s your vertical, business relationships or something internal, it can be challenging to decide when to commit to a pivot. Here at Trinity Web Media, we believe the best time to make a pivot is as soon as you can. If something is starting to feel like it’s getting away from you, it likely is.

As you know, it can take a lot for a company to make a complete pivot. So, like we always say, small incremental changes are the best way to go. Judging when to commit to wholesale changes is tricky since they are so many moving parts to account for. But, we stand by the belief that the best time to pivot is sooner rather than later.

Hey everyone, thanks for checking out another bonus episode of the New Marketing Show, getting us on YouTube and Instagram TV. So, I was thinking on the train ride back from Philadelphia here to Yardley, Pennsylvania, on the way back to the Trinity office, when is it time for you to pivot? When is it time for you to change what you’re doing?

Whether it’s your marketing strategy, whether it’s your business model, whether it’s your vertical, whether it’s who you’re working with. So I came to one conclusion that the best time to change or the time to change all that stuff is sooner rather than later. I think that’s the only conclusion that I came to is change that stuff sooner rather than later.

And just because you want to make changes doesn’t mean that you have to go ahead and make big wholesale changes like we always talked about, you can make small changes, you know, small pivots when it comes to business or business associates or your location or your vertical, are all good and all healthy. I think that what you need to do is know what works for you and what doesn’t work for you.

And then what possibly can work for you. You know, I’ve been doing a lot of consulting and a lot of thinking about startups. And you know, we’re in the middle of launching some of our own products here for Trinity web media.

So a lot of this stuff is really heavy on my mind right now is like, when do you bring something to market? When do you go ahead and introduce your business model? You know, I think that the best time to do all that stuff is sooner rather than later.

So when something starts to feel off, something starts to feel like it’s getting away from you. If competitors are starting to gain market share, if you’re starting to hear other people’s names, more and more and more, it’s time to change something – it’s time to pivot.

So hey, thanks for listening. Thanks for watching. You get more episodes like this at trinitywebmedia.com/iTunes. Take care.
