Hey everyone, welcome to another bonus episode of the new Marketing Show catching us on Instagram, TV, YouTube, our website, wherever you’re getting this content, we definitely appreciate you. So I want to start talking about how sales and digital marketing and how web development all need to work together. And I think this is going to be a topic that I’m going to talk more and more about, as I get more ingrained into some of our clients sales processes, and how we can help support them. So I just wrote a blog post about this. But here’s one of the biggest things.

There’s always a disconnect between marketing and sales, and, you know, or sales and manufacturing. You know, that’s a classic historical one. But there’s always a disconnect between web development and marketing. And the biggest reason that there’s such a disconnect about things are because there’s no communication, there’s no open communication. You know, developers and marketers do things a certain way. sales people do things a certain way. And nobody ever talks about how They do it and how they can work together to help support each other and probably get way better results. So part of this is one from a digital marketing and from a web development standpoint, we need to understand your sales team sales process. And the first step to really understanding things that are first step to making things work really well is true understanding. So ask them what questions you keep hearing, what objections do you have? What are their competence? What do you hear about the competition?

You know, as digital marketers, these are all easy points that we can either construct content around or maybe we can get some social media posts around, or we can go ahead and produce podcasts about or videos around. And then from a development standpoint, we can make key landing pages so that when they’re pushing out specific, special initiatives, what can happen is to hasten the conversion cycle and to hasten the sale cycle. Well we can do is we can then direct them to a highly optimized landing page that gets right to the point. And that’s no nonsense. So the first step, again, is truly understanding what your sales team is up against. There’s another way to start doing things. And this is going to the onus going to fall a little bit on a salesperson here is if a salesperson can get us good, consistent
data.

Now, that’s from a CRM, or even just from MailChimp, or like a nonprofit world, something like give up or donor perfect. If you can give us good data about what these personas look like and what these individuals that you’re working with or speaking to look like. Again, we can serve a relevant messaging to address their specific concerns, their specific needs and the specific problem that we’re solving. So sales, marketing, web development, rather than them being three different departments, we should start to look at them as being one cohesive unit, so that we can go ahead and make things better for everybody. And this is one of those situations that when you know sales and revenue is is generated, everybody wins.

Without a doubt everybody wins. So, thanks for checking us out. You can get more videos like this at Trinity web media.com slash Apple podcasts, or you can catch us on YouTube, Instagram TV wherever you get any of our other content.

Jay Baer

If you need to take your web/digital program to the next level, these are the guys to see. Fast, honest, innovative and totally on top of it. Highly recommended! • Jay Baer – NY Times Best-selling Author, Founder/President – Convince and Convert

What our clients say…

While I’ve known Greg for years from our time together in the marketing scene, I’ve only recently had the chance to work with Trinity Web Media on a client project. Not only was the team professional and their work spot on, they were amazingly quick to respond and required very little hand-holding along the way. I chalk that up to their past experience and a deep understanding of best-in-class services.

What our clients say…

I have hired Greg and the Trinity team multiple times for work on my own websites, and have also hired them to work on behalf of multiple clients. He is simply a pleasure to work with, in every respect. Smart but without the giant ego of some developers, Trinity Web Media works with his clients to achieve their vision in the best way possible — with careful attention to their interests, and thoughtful recommendations based on his expertise. • Susan Baier – Founding Marketing Strategist – Audience Audit
