Crafting Your Bio

November 4, 2019 by Kevin Eberle

Crafting Your Bio

Crafting your bio takes a lot more work then you may think. This labor-intensive process is a significant part of establishing yourself in an industry that should be taken seriously. Today, Greg breaks down several tips for writing a stellar bio.

One of the most important things is making sure you remain precise and to the point. Let your clients know exactly what you do within an organization and set the expectation. If you are a WordPress developer, let it be known. If you are more of a sales rep, don’t beat around the bush.

Another aspect of crafting a compelling bio is making sure you avoid being too cute. No one needs to read a funny pun while trying to learn who you are. Keep it short, to the point, and full of pertinent information.

Hey everyone, thanks for checking out another bonus episode of the new Marketing Show catching us on Instagram TV, YouTube. Where are you getting this content, we appreciate you. Today I want to talk about one of the hardest things that anybody in business need to do. And that’s crafting your bio. Now, writing bios, especially writing bios for yourself is one of the most labor intensive, heart wrenching, difficult things to do. Here’s what I do when I need to write a bio, especially for myself.

I keep it short, I keep it concise, I keep it to the point, I try not to get too cute with it. So I want to tell people exactly where I’m from what I do for my company, what are my interests? What are my hobbies? And again, and what function do I play it within my company and organization? So the client knows, hey, when I’m working on WordPress projects, hey, I’m going to work with Greg. So if you’re able to do that, if you’re able to keep it short, if we’re able to keep it coming You’re able to keep it right to the point and tell everybody exactly what you do for your company, how you help the client, it’s gonna be better.

Try to avoid being cute. So many times people get too cute with their bios or they go over the top with accomplishments, etc, etc. Keep it short. Keep it to the point. Let people understand who you are, what you do and how you help them.

What our clients say…

While I’ve known Greg for years from our time together in the marketing scene, I’ve only recently had the chance to work with Trinity Web Media on a client project. Not only was the team professional and their work spot on, they were amazingly quick to respond and required very little hand-holding along the way. I chalk that up to their past experience and a deep understanding of best-in-class services.

What our clients say…

I have hired Greg and the Trinity team multiple times for work on my own websites, and have also hired them to work on behalf of multiple clients. He is simply a pleasure to work with, in every respect. Smart but without the giant ego of some developers, Trinity Web Media works with his clients to achieve their vision in the best way possible — with careful attention to their interests, and thoughtful recommendations based on his expertise. • Susan Baier – Founding Marketing Strategist – Audience Audit
