Every so often, we are asked by clients, “Is my website working for my business?” I know this sounds like a silly question, but actually, it is an honest question.
First things first, if you have to ask, “Is my website working?” you probably have your own suspicions on the topic. We all know your WordPress site is the center of your digital marketing and the business universe, so it is essential for your website to function correctly and add to the business.
Here are three ways I audit a site to make sure it is working to advance your business.
1. Check the analytics: Are you trending upward in traffic, unique visitors and time on site? Is the bounce rate less than 45%?
2. SEO: Google your business name, where you are, and what you do. Make sure you are showing good results, meaning, no negative reviews, and showing up for searches that are relevant to your business.
3. Conversion rate: Do you get contact forms emailed to you from people looking to do business with your company? Yes, good. No? Look to see how you can increase the conversion rate and engage your audience.
When you look at the above issues and metrics, be honest with your counterparts with what is found. If you are unable to measure any of the above items — your site is not working for you. (Period) Trinity Web Media is a firm believer that you can not change what you do not measure. Measure everything. Measure often. Review, refine, and repeat.
Now it’s your turn…
