Located in sunny San Diego, CA Better Buzz is a local coffee shop & roaster that is second to none.
I have been a faithful patron of Better Buzz for years. The new Hillcrest location is a complete mecca for the coffee lover. The new, extensive menu makes my inner fat girl squeal with delight. Can we please talk about the ambiance? This new location is EVERYTHING!
While I could gush all day over the esthetics and fabulous menu, let’s get to the good stuff – the Better Buzz marketing team.
Better Buzz’s team does an amazing job of identifying its audience personas, telling a great story and creating opportunities for user-generated content. (All of which we at Trinity Web Media love.)
Better Buzz has come up with a flawless marketing plan for user-generated content. Aside from the brand consistency of their products (cups, coffee clutches/sleeves, and napkins), at every location, there are clever branding opportunities for customers to put on their personal social media. Customers love to share the experiences they have with both products and locations. In appreciation of the user-generated content, Better Buzz repurposes the content to build a greater sense of appreciation of its community not just of the coffee lover, but everyone who enjoys “Life’s better buzzed.”
Without digging too deep, if you look at the Better Buzz Instagram mosaic you will see their three distinct audiences.
1. The person who needs to get work done
2, People who want the social experience
3. Coffee and food lovers
The details are executed beautifully. From the images to the captions, they are tailored to speak to the specific personas and what the designated personas want to experience. What you see is what you get. Better Buzz’s social media is a direct reflection of the experience you will have.
I love how Better Buzz uses storytelling as a key component of their social initiatives. Leading up to the opening of the Hillcrest location, I stalked their Instagram stories religiously. I was excited to see this new coffee Mecca come to fruition. I was hooked. I celebrated their victories and sympathized with their setbacks as the store came that much closer to opening. And when the coffee shop finally opened, it was like the story has come full circle.
Better Buzz receives my social shoutout because it is one of the accounts that does not make me cringe when I see their feed. With all the bullshit people put out, it’s relieving to see a brand that just does it right.
Kudos Better Buzz — we love having you as a part of our (social) community.
