If it Sounds Too Good to Be True, it Probably Is

With so many promises made by different brands in the digital marketing industry, it’s more common than ever to get conned. Whenever a company offers you number one rankings, crazy amounts of clicks or anything like that, proceed with caution.

As with anything, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately, Trinity runs into companies that are not being truthful to their clients far more often then we’d like. It’s a shame, so many brands will make empty promises and pray off of the uninformed.

Always beware of unethical marketing companies. Again, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Hello, and welcome to another bonus episode of the new Marketing Show, or catching us on Instagram TV today, it’s gonna be a quick one, I want to talk about marketing, and just some solid advice. So marketing is not going to fix everything within your company, it’s not going to fix everything that that’s wrong with your organization.

But what’s going to happen is, some people are going to approach you to do marketing, it’s all going to sound great, it’s going to sound like the end all be all, it’s going to sound like the cure for everything that’s going wrong right now in your business. Proceed with caution. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is, trust me.

If things are too good to be true, if they promise you the world and they promise you top ranking, you know in the search engines, if they promise you X amount of clicks per month, if they promise you any of that stuff, proceed with caution because if it sounds too good to be true, there’s a good chance that it is to too good to be true.

And what they’re doing is they’re praying on somebody who doesn’t know as much as they do, and they’ll always give you the pushback that you don’t know what you’re talking about. We are the expert, etc, etc. Go with your gut. Work with a trusted marketing advisor whenever possible.

Get resources I’m sorry, get references of people get case studies. See how they’ve helped other people before you sign on for long term. Big package deals with somebody. It’s going to save you a lot of headache, money, heartache, everything in the balance.

So thanks for checking this out. For as always, you can get more episodes of the New Marketing Show at trinitywebmedia.com/iTunes or wherever else you get your podcasts and thanks for watching us on Instagram, TV and YouTube.

What our clients say…

While I’ve known Greg for years from our time together in the marketing scene, I’ve only recently had the chance to work with Trinity Web Media on a client project. Not only was the team professional and their work spot on, they were amazingly quick to respond and required very little hand-holding along the way. I chalk that up to their past experience and a deep understanding of best-in-class services.

What our clients say…

I have hired Greg and the Trinity team multiple times for work on my own websites, and have also hired them to work on behalf of multiple clients. He is simply a pleasure to work with, in every respect. Smart but without the giant ego of some developers, Trinity Web Media works with his clients to achieve their vision in the best way possible — with careful attention to their interests, and thoughtful recommendations based on his expertise. • Susan Baier – Founding Marketing Strategist – Audience Audit
