Launching WordPress Websites with a Site Launch Checklist

January 21, 2020 by Nate Baldwin

Launching WordPress Websites with a Site Launch Checklist

The process behind launching WordPress websites is a bit more meticulous then you may expect. When we get ready to publish the final product of a site design, we go through several crucial steps. Often, we refer back to a checklist to make sure that we complete everything that needs to be accounted for.

The launch phase of a WordPress site can get tricky, which is why it is a good idea to refer to professionals. If you miss a step during this phase, it could have disastrous effects on your site’s premiere.

If you’re seeking out advice for launching WordPress websites, you came to the right place. On today’s Trinity Web Minute, Greg gets into the details that occur behind-the-scenes. Check it out!

Hello, welcome to another bonus episode of the new Marketing Show catching us on Instagram TV, YouTube wherever getting it. I’m coming to you from cold, New Jersey.

So today I want to talk about launching WordPress sites. So the best thing to do when you are ready to launch your site, when you build it is to have a launch checklist.

Make sure that you go methodically through this checklist because what’s going to happen then is you’re going to make sure that you’re going to make sure that you don’t miss any steps.

So a couple of things that are in our launch checklist is making sure that the old site is backed up and save somewhere safe. This gives you a safety net from which to operate.

Making sure you have all your credentials. Do you have all the hosting credentials? Do you have all that you make new databases? Did you do all that stuff? Do you have Google Analytics ready to be installed on the new site? Are all of your links working? Did you develop the site with relevant links or did you develop them with hard path?

If you devote one word relative links, which basically would just be like slash WP dash content slash where the file lives, you’re gonna be fine when you migrate over, if you developed it with hard paths, where it would be like dev server.com slash WP dash content, you may have some trouble. So troubleshoot all that stuff, make sure that everything works.

Make sure that your contact forms are dialed in and set up for notifications. All of these little things are super easy to forget. Because even though, you know, we’ve lost hundreds of sites, even though your launch lots and lots of them, it’s still easy to miss a step.

So if you have a list that you go methodically through, you’re not going to miss any steps. So today, we have a big launch going, you know, I’m sure you’re gonna hear more about it on social media.

We have a big launch going, I have my checklist planned. So listen, we practice what we preach. So when you’re ready to launch your next site, just make the checklist

Then you’re going to assure that little will go wrong.
