Hello, welcome to another bonus episode of the new Marketing Show. Today, I want to talk to you kind of about a lot of what we’re talking about with our clients. And a lot of conversations that we’re having about what kind of messaging do we put out in a time like this? You know, this is, again, I keep saying, These are times that are unprecedent that people have never seen before.
So I have come to the conclusion that there are three stages of messaging that need to be put out to the public and be, you know, communications and public facing when it comes to, you know, what’s going on right now.
The three phases in my mind are inform, engage and recover. First things first. It’s important for everybody to inform the community and their community, their clients, you know, their patrons, whatever they are, about what you’re doing what’s going on in your business.
What is happening & what are we doing to make things safe? What are we doing to stay open& ehat are we doing to stay in business?
Than ask, what are we doing for you? How are we still here? What are we? What precautions are we taking in place? You know, what’s going on within our business? You know, I know a lot of friends of mine in the fitness world, you know, their gyms are closed.
So, you know, I’ve had a couple conversations where it’s, you know, what should we say and it’s like, just say what you’re doing, say what’s going on, you know, let people know the alternatives, you know, to your brick and mortar facility or etc, etc, you know, in the food and beverage space, you know, let people know that you have takeout, let people know that what precautions are taken to make sure that things are safe, let people know how to order from you, you know, whether it’s you know, direct pickup phone, online, etc, etc.
From there once we’re done with this information stage, and you know, and I think that the information stage is going to be ongoing as New information is released to everybody else. It’s gonna be important to engage your community and keep tabs on them. Make sure that they’re okay.
How does your product service and brand fit into their life? How are you able to go ahead and help them? You know, and a lot of the engagement stuff is, you know, how can we help? How can we better support you as you’re going through this time of need?
You know, it’s really important to stay in people’s lives. So if you take you know playbook, you know, Gary Vaynerchuk, you know, years ago, the Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook. We’re gonna throw two jabs here. And before we come in with the hook, so we’re going to inform, we’re going to engage the information and the engagement process never really ends.
These are things that you always have to do but in times of crisis in times, like right now, it’s more important than ever, that that your audience hears from you. They hear from you frequently, and they hear from you when good information now
Whenever this thing is over, and as we start to see some light at the end of the tunnel here, it’s going to be important to recover. Now, we threw a jab, we threw another jab, we informed we engage, how to recover.
Now it’s time to tell people. Hey, we’re back. This is how you can help support us. Hey, this is how we are still here. This is thank you for being with us. Thank you for still being with us and thank you for you know, your continued support. Thank you for your messages and thank you for everything. This was a rough patch.
We’re still here. We’re here to help you and we’re here to serve you. And I think that that recovery process if you inform your audience, and you engage them correctly throughout this time, and don’t push out bullshit information. You’re not health experts, unless you’re our health expert, but make sure that your information is right. Solid?
Well as you’re informing and engaging everybody from engagement, think of new, creative, creative ways, you know, think of other ways to, you know, engage your audience in an online manner.
You know, where they live, you know, are they on Instagram? Are they on Twitter? Are they on Facebook, or via your email, you know, now your email list is going to be even more important than it ever has been. Right?
The recovery is going to come, the recovery is going to probably come slowly, but it’s going to come. Because what’s going to happen is, you’re going to remain a constant in everybody’s life, as we’re all going through these difficult times.
So this is the this is the strategy that we’re taking on as a company as training web media. We know we’re forming, engaging, and, you know, hopefully coming back on the recovery process, you know, in all of our businesses in the sterling corporate partnership, so give it a go.
Drop us a line if you have any questions. You know, we’re doing some outreach, you know, for all businesses in Camden County, New Jersey and all the Delaware River towns Businesses that they want to have quick conversation about messaging or how to, you know, engage and stay top of mind with everyone.
We’re here for you. So stay strong everyone stay together. I think together we can all be better. So let’s keep on keepin on. Hey, thanks for watching.
