Website design trends come and go and typically we are not one to comment on current trends, but there are some trends we want to discuss. The best thing about WordPress development and web design is the with knowledge of WordPress and/or web development you can keep your site updated and current with the times.
Current Website Design Trends
Minimal Design
More and more often we see tons of whitespace on pages. The new Trinity Web Media site utilizes a lot of whitespace in comparison from other version of our site. The strategic use of whitespace allows the audience to focus on key messaging and information versus being distracted by many images and object.
Minimal design takes into account what is really important to the business, the site’s goals, how to be helpful to the audience and pleasing the search engines.
No Sidebars
Today, there is a popular no sidebar movement. When we are developing important goal orientated pages, we like full-content, no sidebar pages. This keeps the audience engaged and gives them an opportunity to absorb the information at hand. There is a great balance a WordPress Design Company needs to find between developing a site for conversion, designing a site for branding, or creating a good informative website.
Microsites
The last trend we see is the strategic use of microsites when it comes to specific strategic initiatives. A good microsite balances unique information, while linking to a main branded site. By using microsites, you can isolate your audience’s attention and optimize a site for specific conversion points.
This is by no way an end all be all list of trends. These are a couple of glaring trends we noticed over the last months becoming more prevalent within the WordPress community.
Now, take a look at your site…is it current and up to date or do you feel it’s dated and maybe time to take a look at refreshing your website.
